Pardon my incurable optimism, but I think Skamania County is on the brink of new prosperity and greatness that builds upon its uniqueness. What we need is leadership to move forward.
I am a leader. My work in the private sector brought my family to Skamania County over 15 years ago. I am serving my third four-year-term on the Stevenson-Carson School Board. As Skamania County Director of Facilities and Recreation, I have been instrumental in improvements to recreation, fair, park, and capital improvement programs. I believe in our County. With your support we will advance responsively through the challenges ahead.
I believe in efficient, effective, responsive government. I believe that local government provides the services that most impact people's lives, and that it needs to be ever vigilant to make positive impacts on the community.
I believe in the responsibility of state and federal governments to protect the sanctity and viability of rural America. I believe that State and Federal landowners, who are, by their own rules, exempt from paying local property taxes, need to provide compensation for their impacts on local communities and governments.
As your county commissioner, I will provide leadership to guarantee the future prosperity of Skamania County, to provide responsible and efficient government services, and to protect our viability and unique values.
